FAQs

  • IV (intravenous) therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, and hydration directly into your bloodstream for faster and more effective absorption compared to oral supplements.

Depending on the infusion selected, benefits may include increased energy, improved hydration, enhanced immunity, skin rejuvenation, faster recovery from fatigue, and overall wellness support.

  • Is IV therapy safe for everyone?
IV therapy is generally safe when administered under medical supervision, but it may not be suitable for everyone. To protect your health, we carefully review your medical history before your appointment. If certain conditions are identified, we may not be able to proceed with your infusion. These include:

    • Severe heart conditions (e.g., arrhythmias, congestive heart failure)

    • Severe kidney disease (including renal failure or dialysis)

    • Severe allergies to infusion ingredients

    • Active infections or immunocompromised states (e.g., chemotherapy)

    • Severe dehydration or major electrolyte imbalances requiring hospital care

    • Liver disorders (such as cirrhosis or active liver disease)

    • Pregnancy – especially in the first trimester; in later pregnancy, only hydration infusions may be suitable with medical approval

    • Uncontrolled diabetes

    • Blood disorders (e.g., haemophilia, clotting disorders)

    • Recent surgery or major trauma

If you are unsure about your eligibility, we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider before booking. Completing your intake form thoroughly and on time also allows our medical team, including our prescribing doctor, to determine if IV therapy is appropriate for you. If a contraindication is identified, we may recommend alternatives or refer you to another provider for further care.

  • Most sessions take 30–60 minutes, depending on the infusion type and your individual needs.

Please allow up to 4 hours for NAD+ infusion.

  • All IV infusions are considered Schedule 4 (S4) medicines in Australia, which means they can only be supplied and administered with a doctor’s prescription. This is because IV therapies carry potential risks and side effects, and must be used under professional medical supervision.

To ensure your safety, every infusion is reviewed and prescribed by our medical team. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulates these medicines to make sure they are used safely and appropriately. This is why an intake form, prescription, and medical oversight are always required before your treatment.

  • After you make your booking, our Registered Nurse will be in touch with you to discuss your needs for IV therapy. You will then receive a Medical Intake and Consent form to complete. This allows you to share details of any pre-existing health conditions, current medications, or treatment plans. Your information is carefully reviewed by our medical team, including our prescribing doctor, to ensure your infusion is safe and personalised to your needs.

All treatments are overseen by our prescribing doctor. Please note that certain ingredients or infusion types may not be suitable depending on the information you provide.

During your session, your nurse will stay with you throughout the infusion to monitor your comfort and progress. If adjustments are needed, they will be made to give you the most comfortable experience possible. For any questions about ingredients, dosages, or the process itself, you’re always welcome to reach out to us at 0404 336 933 or hello@elixeivtherapy.com.au

  • Yes. Our Registered Nurses are trained and experienced in administering iron infusions. To book an iron infusion, you will need to provide a doctor’s prescription along with your recent blood test results confirming the need for treatment.

If you require Elixé IV Therapy to organise your blood test and arrange a prescription for your iron infusion, additional costs may apply.

All infusions are carried out under medical oversight, and our nurses are equipped with emergency kits to manage any rare allergic reactions, ensuring your safety and comfort at all times.

  • Our Registered Nurses cannot recommend or prescribe specific ingredients, as they are not authorised to make clinical decisions. Your infusion plan is determined by a licensed healthcare provider.

We encourage you to discuss our infusion menu with your regular healthcare provider before booking. When you complete your intake form, our prescribing physician will carefully review your medical history and current health status to ensure your infusion is safe and appropriate. In some cases, certain ingredients may not be suitable, and any adjustments or limitations will be explained to you before your treatment.

  • Yes, we do. Our nurses can attend to multiple clients at the same time, making group sessions perfect for wellness days, bridal parties, corporate events, or family bookings.

To book a group session, please send us an email and provide the names and contact details of all attendees. Please note that each participant must complete a Medical Intake and Consent Form before the appointment. Our prescribing doctor will review every form to ensure the infusion chosen is safe and appropriate for each individual’s health needs.

If your question isn’t listed above, feel free to reach out to us directly on 0404 336 933.

Our team will be happy to assist you.
